Glass Bead Making for Beginners

Discover the joys of making your own lampwork beads using a HotHead torch, a canister of MAPP gas, and Bullseye glass rods.  During this six-week class, you will learn the history of lampwork beads; how to safely set up your workspace; necessary tools and techniques.  Each class will start with a demonstration of a new Bead making technique and then you'll get to practice, practice, and practice.

Learn about:

Winding - the "perfect" round bead, cylindrical bead and flat bead

Dots - how to add them and the many decorating designs using dots

Stringers - how to make them and use them to decorate a bead

Plunged dots - how to make them and when to use them

Thompson enamels - what they are and how to use them for an organic look.

Dichroic Glass - put the shine into your beads with this mysterious but fun glass.
